Dr. Gideon Friedmann
Dr. Gideon Friedmann works at the Chief Scientist office of the Ministry of Energy of Israel. Areas of expertise: Renewable energy policy & pricing, the electricity market, Smart distributed Grid & Grid Security, Smart transportation and Energy Efficiency.
Holds a Ph. D. in Physics from Stanford University, a B.Sc. in Mathematics & Physics (Magna Cum Laude) from Tel Aviv University, Eligibility to study for MA in Economics from Tel Aviv University, and a diploma in Bioinformatics from the Open University.
Over 15 years of industry experience in both management and R&D. Worked in the semiconductor metrology, medical instrumentation and biotechnology industries. Also ran a small pharmaceutical startup.
Publishes opinion articles in Israel’s largest newspaper, Yediot Aharonot, and Calcalist. Social activist involved in local government in Mevasseret Zion near Jerusalem, mainly in education, but also in economics, and transportation issues.
