Mrs.Indra Prem Menon, born on 26th September, 1959, completed her degree in Arts in Mount Carmel College, Bangalore and then obtained her degree in Law from the Madras University. She did a short stint at the law firm M/s. King and Partridge, Bangalore but the call of Business and Industry was far too strong and pressing to resist or ignore.

She is a member of an illustrious family in Bangalore, highly reputed and respected for over seven decades in business, commercial and industrial sectors as well as in Governmental Agencies and in social circles.

Mrs. Menon is a person full of energy and enthusiasm and plenty of drive and dynamism as also zeal and zest in abundance. She has the capacity to relentlessly pursue her goal with intense and single-minded dedication. She is at all times willing to take on challenges and overcome them. She aims at perfection in all she does and does not compromise on the high standards she sets for herself or others.

Her assets in business are her debating ability and persuasive as well as negotiating skills.

Mrs. Menon was the youngest President of The Bangalore Chamber of Industry and Commerce, Bangalore, Karnataka.

Mrs. Menon is the President and CEO of Lakshmanan Isola Private Limited, and is engaged in managing all aspects of the operations of the Company. This Company is a vibrant organisation in a high-tech segment and dealing in sophisticated products for high voltage electrical application with substantial exports to various countries around the globe. Further, she is active on the Board of Directors of several companies which spans various fields like IT, Hospitality, Finance, Films to name a few. Currently she is the Vice President of Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA), an apex association of manufacturers of electrical, industrial electronics and allied equipment in India. IEEMA today represents about 800 reputed member-organizations from public, joint and private sectors, whose combined annual turnover is in excess of US dollars 30 billion. She is also an active member of the organizing committee of ELECRAMA 2018, World’s largest Exhibition of Electrical Transmission and Distribution (T&D) a flagship event of IEEMA, which will be held once in two years. She is also a Director of NTTF, India’s leading and premier Technical Training Institute Head Quartered in Bangalore. She is also the Chairperson of Public Policy Cell constituted by IEEMA. She is also the Executive Council Member of CII Karnataka and an Executive Member of National Committee on Power of CII. She is also on the board of Power Sector Skill Council (PSSC), which has been set up in July 2013 as a Society with the objective of facilitating the skill development activities including capacity building for training delivery to meet the needs of Power Industry, that consist of Conventional Power Sector (Generation, Transmission and Distribution), Renewable Energy and Power Equipment Manufacturing Sector. The council has been promoted by:-

  1. Central Electricity Authority (CEA), Ministry of Power
  2. Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE)
  3. Indian Electrical & Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA)

She is also member of the Governing Council of Bangalore City Connect Foundation, which is involved in rendering Expert Services in infrastructure and other related areas. She is also Chairperson of Institute Management Committee – Regional Vocational Training Institute for Women – Bangalore. She has keen interest in a vast array of business activities ranging over finance, films, textile garments and the hospitality industry.

Mrs. Menon has travelled widely and extensively over the last thirty years. Her sharp business acumen enables her to quickly grasp the subtleties and intricacies of any new situation as it unfolds or a commercial/economic activity as it develops. She has deep and abiding interest in establishing, nurturing and developing on flurry of trade and commercial activities to augment Indian Commerce.

She also has a penchant and flair for costume design, interior decoration and painting and all of the above she pursues with a passion. But above all, her true passion is her family and she dotes on her two children Ramone and Raoul who by the way today, are young men of 30 and 28 years of age.

She is also involved in charitable pursuits and is always willing to lend a helping hand and a sympathetic ear. She is a Trustee in Nightingales Medical Trust. Her personal maxim has always been….
