Mr. Prince Mayo
Prince Moyo PrEng FSAIEE is a General Manager for Power Delivery Engineering at South Africa’s electricity utility, Eskom. Since 2011 he has headed a team of 400 engineers responsible for the specification of transmission and distribution equipment and design of all transmission infrastructure (worth over US$500M annually) and maintenance and operations standards. He has also managed engineering operations at KwaZulu-Natal Province (pop. 9M) from 1998 to 2010. In his current role he advises on research direction, new technology adoption and the impact of technology on organizational strategy. Prince holds a BSc honours degree in Electrical Engineering (1993) from the University of Zimbabwe, an MSc Industrial Engineering (2000) degree from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg and an MBL (2015) degree from the University of South Africa. He is a registered professional engineer (1999) in South Africa, a member of the national IEC Committee and a secretary of the national Cigre Committee.
Prince has been awarded the premier award of 2016 Engineer of the Year by the South African Institute for Electrical Engineers (SAIEE) for his distinguished contribution to the electricity industry in South Africa.
