Professor of Environmental Technology and Environmental Management - University of Leipzig, Germany

Prof. Dr.-Ing. Robert H. Hollaender is Professor of Environmental Technology and Environmental Management at the Faculty of Economics and Management Science of the University of Leipzig. His main research interests are municipal water services, urban waste and material flow cycles, and change management of urban infrastructure.

In 2005, he established the Institute of Infrastructure and Resources Management (IIRM) which pursues an integrated approach to sustainable planning, operating and managing technical infrastructure systems for energy supply, traffic and transport, for water, wastewater and waste services. A particular focus is on the effectiveness and efficiency of management institutions and of specific management instruments on governmental, municipal or company levels.

From 2006 to 2011 he served as Vice-Rector of his University and from 2003to 2006 he was Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management Science of Leipzig University. Before becoming a Professor he worked for eleven years at the Federal German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety.
