Mrs. Baroness Verma

In 2006 Baroness Verma was raised to the peerage as Baroness Verma of Leicester and she was the opposition Whip and opp Minister from 2006-2010 and then Government Whip and Minister from  the 2010 General election.

Baroness Verma started her first business at the age of 19 years in high fashion supplying high street multiples and exporting to European countries. In 2000 she changed her business to the service sector.

She received the prestigious Golden Peacock Award from IOD, India in 2013
She received the prestigious ELLIS ISLAND MEDAL OF HONOUR award from U.S.A. in 2015.
She received the Honorary Doctorate for Business Administration from the University of Wolverhampton.

Baroness Verma is the first person from South East Asia in the Conservative Party to sit on the front benches across both the Houses of Parliament. Basically the first Indian Minister in the Conservative Party. Thus created history.
