Rajesh Bansal has done his graduation in Electronic Engineering in 1985 from NITK Surathkal. He started his career as a Scientist at the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) Satellite center.
His journey in the field of Energy Metering started in 1994 when while working in M/s VHEL, his team had developed “first Anti Temper ASIC for Electronic Energy Meter”. He was head of first Single phase Electronic Meter Manufacturing Company in India and was head of DZG- Havells Meter Company known for its 40 years life meters.
In 2004, he joined BSES Delhi, Reliance Group Company, distributing Power in Delhi. Presently as Senior Executive Vice President, he is working as Head Network operation.
He strongly believes in the power of Data analytics & automation and has handled many key projects by developing an analytics program to detect theft, network health, wrong installation, key equipment failure and to study the impact on technical loss, consumer behavior, demand curve, revenue protection, energy audit sheet.
He defines the Distribution business as management of demand curve and Technical loss with efficiency and reliability. Data from Meter and assets with sensors can play the most vital role in any distribution utility. He has shared his experience and concept in more than 20 countries, with utilities, policy makers, students and industry. He has conducted various training sessions specially on “management of demand curve and technical loss”.
In India, he is an active member of various technical committees and also Chairman of CBIP Metering Standardization Committee, for “CBIP Metering Manual”.
